Starting with an information event on “Trademark Protection on the Internet”, the LEMARIT Customer Event has become an integral part of the annual calendar since 2011. For the third time in a row, we stuck to the digital concept and presented relevant news from the domain world and “beyond” on November 17.

The event was kicked off by the presentation on the 20th anniversary of the company. CEO Martin Küchenthal provided insights into the development of LEMARIT since its foundation in 2002 – and that of the domain world. He underlined these with informative and insightful data.

The subsequent presentation of the new Premium Redirect Service for secure forwarding of URL redirects was followed with particular interest. Not surprisingly, as the new all-in-one solution offers many advantages and includes the setup of the redirect, the provision and renewal of the necessary SSL certificate, a network of redirect servers with fast and fail-safe anycast technology as well as IPv6. In addition, an interface to the LEMARIT.app provides all related statistics at a glance.

Behind the scenes: Thomas and Martin Küchenthal during the LEMARIT 2022 Customer Event

Speaking of LEMARIT.app, CTO Thomas Küchenthal grabbed the opportunity afterwards to take all attendees on a live tour through the latest features of our customized domain management tool.

“Customized” was also the keyword in Verena Kuthes, Head of Sales & Business Development, presentation on brand monitoring as part of the Brand Protection Strategy. In summary, the always individual combination of domain strategy, brand monitoring and subsequent enforcement will continue to form the foundation in the fight against brand piracy, cybercrime and the like in 2023.

After the lunch break, which we sweetened with a pre-Christmas gift for the participants – consisting of a noble nutcracker and LEMARIT’s own walnuts – Martin Küchenthal took the audience into the controversial world of blockchain technology.

Walnuts as our pre-Christmas present

The complex around the blockchain, NFTs and cryptocurrencies has now also reached the domain world. These and other terms were explained in a practical manner and put into context with current examples. The still somewhat diffuse (danger) potential for trademark owners was also pointed out.

At the end of the day, Herbert Carstensen, Head of Fulfilment & Support, spoke about the daily challenges of LEMARIT Brand Enforcement and provided a how-to guide for domain purchases. Above all, his presentation made clear why a trustworthy partner is irreplaceable in this often complicated process.

We at LEMARIT would like to thank all participants and are pleased about the lively meet-up. Despite the successful digital event, we hope to be able to welcome our customers in person again next year at a LEMARIT Customer Event on site.
